Mother’s Help – Colchester, Essex

Hummingbird Homestaff are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a lovely family in Colchester who are looking for a kind, reliable and proactive Mother’s Help to support Mum with her two young children.

The family have an 18-month-old little boy and a newborn baby, and are looking for someone calm, supportive and confident with both age groups to help make the mornings run smoothly.

This is a lovely role for someone who enjoys working alongside a parent, offering an extra pair of hands and becoming a trusted part of the household.

Hours

• 2 days per week
• 7:00am – 11:00am
• Days flexible and to be agreed with the family

Duties Include

• Supporting Mum with the morning routine
• Helping care for both children (toddler and newborn)
• Engaging the toddler in age-appropriate play
• Preparing simple breakfasts for the children
• Supporting feeding, naps and settling routines
• Sterilising bottles and keeping feeding equipment clean
• Keeping children’s areas tidy and organised
• Light household tasks related to the children

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience with babies and toddlers is essential
• Warm, calm and nurturing
• Reliable and punctual
• Happy working alongside Mum in a shared-care role
• Proactive and able to use initiative
• Up-to-date DBS and First Aid (desirable)
• Excellent references

Salary

£18–£20 per hour, depending on experience
