Position: Live in - Housekeeper/Cook/Nanny
2 x homes - London and Buckinghamshire
Private room and bathroom at each
Family: Mother, Father, 2 x boys, 9 and 6 years, 2 x dogs small/ medium size
Days: 5 days per week - Tuesday 2pm – Sunday 1pm
Hours: 7am – 8pm
Salary: £58,000 pa
The family have other members of staff so some of the roles are shared. Driver with car desirable, but not essential for the right candidate. Expenses relating to car and petrol covered
The family are Genuinely down to earth and a busy family, looking for a hardworking, natural, and unpretentious all-rounder.
They require the professionalism and discretion all HNW families would need. Good energy and a positive attitude are a must.
The family divide time between two homes, Buckinghamshire during the week, and London during the weekend, weather and seasons depending.
They have two energetic boys and dogs.
Job description:
Predominantly looking for an experienced housekeeper/cook, with the ability to feed / watch/ organise the children when needed, both at home and, essentially, when travelling.
40% Cooking
35% Housekeeping
25% Childcare/dog care/travel
Cooking:
They do not require a professional chef, but a good, basic standard is essential. You should have the ability to work to recipes when required, or when they have guests.
However, we would like to work with an at least, nutrition aware candidate, who can assist in introducing more of this into the children’s diet.
Childcare/Nannying:
The parents are hands on parents and take care of the daily parenting, discipline, and overall development. Any candidate looking for, or used to, a predominantly Childcare role alone, should not consider this position.
General duties with children:
Wake kids 7am
Prepare breakfast (cereal on table, toast, pour juice, make mum coffee etc)
Lay-out uniforms and encourage/oversee dressing
Some Morning school drop off’s / after school pick up’s
Some after school clubs / playdate pick up and drop off’s
Snack/Lunch/dinner prep and serving
Holiday packing and prep when we are to travel
Weekly country to London - London to country, important kids’ items, prep, and management
Putting to bed/ looking after, when parents out/away/working
Housekeeping: (completely assisted 2nd full time staff member)
Deep and surface cleaning
Tidying regularly throughout the day, each room/area after use.
Washing and Ironing
Putting away/hanging clothes
School uniform maintenance and preparation
Holiday packing and preparation
Carpet/upholstery maintenance and spot cleaning
Fragile garment care and knowledge
Food and Online shopping. Ordering and co-ordinating
House guest care
Changing beds, managing guest rooms and preparing for arrivals
Pantry maintenance
Keeping garden free of dog waste
Dog walking / Dog feeding
Basic garden sweeping/tidy/putting away toys at end of each day
Covering/uncovering garden furniture in accordance with weather/season
Tidying around the pool
Watching children by the pool
Stocking pool area with fresh towels
light bulbs replacement/tighten loose door handles etc
Fridge and oven cleaning
Out of date fridge food and cupboard maintenance
Garage and gym sorting/cleaning
Garden watering when required (hot weather etc)
Closing opening and closing or curtain each day. 6pm each evening in bedrooms
Able to use apps for on-line shopping /room temp / front property gates /etc
Holidays:
This role requires you to travel with the family for most holidays and short breaks.
You will still have 2 days off during travel lasting a week or more
Family holidays are as much a time for them to recuperate and spend time together alone, as they are for having fun with the kids. The role of holiday nanny includes, tidying, washing, helping with guests and child food preparation.
The biggest role whilst away is watching/swimming with the kids in the pool/at the beach/ at the kids’ club, etc.
