Hummingbird Homestaff is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming family in Tonbridge who are seeking an experienced and professional Live-In Housekeeper / Nanny to join their household on a long-term basis.

This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys combining high-standard housekeeping with childcare support, and who takes pride in creating a well-organised, calm, and smoothly run home environment.

The family have two children aged 10 and 13, along with a friendly Cockapoo dog, and are looking for someone warm, capable, and proactive who will become a valued and trusted part of their home.

The successful candidate will benefit from their own private self-contained apartment, offering independence and privacy.

Role Overview

This is a dual-focused position, with responsibility for maintaining the household to an excellent standard while also supporting the children’s daily routines, particularly before and after school.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Family Support

• Supporting morning routines and ensuring children are ready for school
• School drop-offs and pick-ups (local to the home)
• Providing after-school care and supervision
• Assisting with homework and maintaining consistent routines
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
• Being a positive, calm and reliable presence in the household

Housekeeping

• Full housekeeping and daily upkeep of the home to a high standard
• Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
• Bed changing and linen care
• Cleaning and maintaining all living areas, kitchens, and bathrooms
• Keeping the home tidy, organised, and well presented at all times
• Managing household supplies and supporting food deliveries

Pet Care

• Walking and caring for the family’s Cockapoo
• Ensuring the dog’s daily routine and wellbeing is maintained

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in nanny-housekeeping or private household roles
• Confident working with school-aged children
• Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated
• Strong housekeeping standards with great attention to detail
• Warm, friendly, and trustworthy personality
• Comfortable managing a varied role with independence
• Dog-friendly
• Full UK driving licence preferred
