Housekeeper / Nanny – Lovely Family | Farnham, Surrey

£18–£20 gross per hour | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 7am–11am & 2pm–6.30pm

Hummingbird Homestaff is delighted to be recruiting for a warm, reliable and organised Housekeeper/Nanny to join a lovely family in Farnham, Surrey.

The family have two lovely children, a 4-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, and are looking for someone who can provide a lovely combination of morning childcare, housekeeping and after-school support.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys both childcare and keeping a busy family home organised.

The Role

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
7.00am–11.00am
2.00pm–6.30pm
£18–£20 gross per hour
Farnham, Surrey

There is a break between the morning and afternoon shifts.

The children attend different schools, which are located on opposite sides of the area, so the role will involve managing the school runs and getting the children where they need to be.

Morning Duties

The morning will begin with getting the children ready for school and helping with their morning routine before completing the school run.

You will then have dedicated time for housekeeping from approximately 9am–11am.

Housekeeping duties will include:

• General cleaning and tidying
• Laundry and ironing
• Keeping the family home organised
• Kitchen and household cleaning
• Changing bed linen when required
• Household organisation
• Batch cooking and meal preparation
• Noticing what needs doing and taking the initiative

The family would love someone who can use this time effectively and help keep the home running smoothly.

Afternoon Duties

From 2pm, you will return to the childcare side of the role, collecting the children from their respective schools and supporting them through their afternoon.

Your responsibilities will include:

• School pick-ups
• Taking the children home
• Preparing snacks and their evening meal
• Homework and reading
• Playing and engaging with the children
• Supporting their afternoon and evening routines
• Helping to keep their belongings and areas tidy
• Providing a warm, caring and reliable presence

School Holidays

The family would like to keep the same working hours during the school holidays, so the regular hours would remain available throughout the year.

There may also be the opportunity for additional hours during the holidays, should the family and nanny agree on this in advance.

• Experienced with both young and school-aged children

• Proactive and able to use their initiative
• Confident managing school runs and busy family routines
• Happy to combine childcare with housekeeping
• A good cook and happy to prepare family meals
• Someone who takes pride in keeping a home clean and organised
• Flexible and happy to get involved wherever needed
• Looking for a long-term position with a lovely family
