Hummingbird Homestaff Ltd is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly organised Housekeeper / Nanny to support a busy family of four based in Hammersmith.

This is a lovely long-term opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and well-run home whilst also offering some support to the family’s 13-year-old daughter.

The family have an older child currently away at university, and both parents work full-time, so they are looking for a proactive and trustworthy person who can confidently manage the home during the day and become a reliable support within the household.

The role is primarily focused on high-standard housekeeping, with some light nanny support for their daughter after school. The family also have one very sweet 4-year-old cat, so applicants must be comfortable around pets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Housekeeping:

• Full housekeeping duties to a high standard
• Daily tidying and household organisation
• Laundry and ironing
• Vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and general cleaning
• Maintaining a consistently clean and welcoming home environment
• Managing food deliveries and putting shopping away
• Confident preparing simple meals or assisting with cooking if required

Childcare Support:

• Collecting the 13-year-old daughter from school
• Supporting with after-school routines
• Offering a calm, caring, and responsible presence within the home

Position Details:

• Location: Hammersmith, West London
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 12pm–6pm
• Salary: £20 gross per hour
• Start: ASAP

Requirements:

• Previous housekeeping experience within private homes preferred
• Professional, discreet, and highly organised
• Excellent housekeeping standards and attention to detail
• Comfortable around cats
• Confident supporting a teenager within the home
• Non-driver absolutely fine — all schools and local amenities are within walking distance
• Must be local to the Hammersmith area
• Excellent references required
• DBS preferred or willingness to obtain one
