Live-In Housekeeper / House Manager (VIP Household)

Location: Lancing, West Sussex
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Accommodation: Separate private house at the end of the driveway (included)

We are recruiting on behalf of a VIP private client for an experienced, discreet, and highly capable Live-In Housekeeper / House Manager to support a couple at their beautiful home in Lancing.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who takes pride in maintaining a pristine household, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable overseeing both housekeeping and light estate-style duties. The property is a large private residence with extensive grounds, and the role includes full responsibility for its smooth day-to-day running when the principals are in residence, and trusted oversight when they are travelling.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Household Management

• Full housekeeping of a large private home to an exceptionally high standard
• Daily cleaning, tidying, and upkeep of all rooms
• Laundry management including washing, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organisation
• Bed changing and linen care
• Deep cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces
• Ensuring the home is consistently guest-ready

Household Support

• House sitting and security oversight when principals are travelling
• Receiving deliveries and overseeing household maintenance visits
• Liaising with trades and contractors when required
• Ensuring the smooth running of the household at all times

Garden & Outdoor Care

• General garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, pruning, and tidying
• Keeping outdoor areas presentable and well maintained
• Basic seasonal upkeep of grounds (no formal landscaping required)

Pet Care (Future Requirement)

• Care for family dogs when in place
• Feeding, walking, and general welfare of pets
• Providing companionship and ensuring animals are well looked after during absences

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in private household or estate-style roles
• Extremely reliable, trustworthy, and discreet (VIP experience preferred)
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• Practical and hands-on across both indoor and outdoor tasks
• Calm, professional, and respectful of privacy
• Flexible and happy to adapt to changing household needs

Accommodation

You will be provided with separate, private accommodation in a house at the end of the driveway, offering independence while remaining close to the main residence.
