Hummingbird Homestaff is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a lovely family based in Kensington who are seeking an experienced, warm, and proactive Live-In Housekeeper / Mother’s Help to join their household.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys maintaining a beautifully run home while providing occasional support to a hands-on mum with two young children under the age of two. The role is primarily housekeeping-focused, with childcare support required as and when needed throughout the day.

The family is looking for someone who is organised, efficient, and happy to take initiative, becoming a valued and trusted member of the household.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day housekeeping of the family home, ensuring it remains clean, organised, and running smoothly. In addition, you will provide support to Mum with the children when required, helping to create a calm and well-managed family environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Housekeeping

• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout the home
• Daily cleaning, tidying, and household upkeep
• Laundry, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organisation
• Changing bed linen and managing household linens
• Keeping kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas immaculate
• Household organisation and general home management
• Monitoring household supplies and assisting with shopping lists when required

Cooking

• Preparing healthy, nutritious family meals
• Batch cooking and meal preparation
• Assisting with family cooking requirements and maintaining an organised kitchen

Mother’s Help Duties

• Assisting Mum with the care of two children under two years old
• Helping with feeding, changing, playtime, and daily routines when required
• Providing an extra pair of hands during busy periods
• Supporting outings and activities as needed
• Working collaboratively alongside a hands-on parent

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Housekeeper, Mother’s Help, or Nanny Housekeeper within a private household
• Confident supporting families with young children
• Excellent housekeeping and organisational skills
• Enjoys cooking and preparing healthy family meals
• Warm, caring, and professional in their approach
• Able to work independently and use initiative
• Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet
• Comfortable working in a fully staffed family environment alongside parents
