A lovely family based in Chigwell is seeking a highly organised, experienced and discreet Housekeeper / Cook to support the smooth day-to-day running of their home on a part-time basis.

This is a varied and hands-on role for someone who takes real pride in maintaining a beautifully run household, enjoys cooking, and is confident working independently to a high standard. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and naturally organised, with a calm and capable approach.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the home to an excellent standard and supporting the family with both housekeeping and light food preparation.

Responsibilities will include general housekeeping and daily tidying throughout the home, managing laundry from start to finish, changing bed linen, and ensuring all living spaces remain clean, organised, and well-presented.

The role also includes kitchen upkeep, dishwasher management, and maintaining order within wardrobes and household storage areas where required.

A key part of the position involves supporting the family with food preparation, including preparing children’s school snacks and lunch items in advance, ensuring uniforms and PE kits are ready, and assisting with meal preparation and batch cooking for the household.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for grocery shopping, managing household supplies, creating shopping lists, and ensuring the home is consistently well-stocked and running efficiently.

Cooking is an important part of the role, including the preparation of family meals, with confidence in cooking Indian dishes for the wider family.

The Ideal Candidate

The family are seeking someone who is experienced within private households and confident managing a range of domestic duties to a high standard. A strong cook with excellent organisation skills is essential, alongside the ability to work independently and take initiative.

You will be trustworthy, discreet, and detail-oriented, with an understanding of how to maintain a well-run and orderly home. An Enhanced DBS and excellent references are essential.
