At Hummingbird Home Staff we have some extremely exciting news! We are very proud to announce our brand new home staff service – Hummingbird Home Support providing practical help, housekeeping and companionship for the elderly!

Hummingbird Home Support provides non-medical support and companionship for elderly clients wishing to remain within their own homes, rather than moving into residential care away from home, family and friends.
We understand and respect that it is not only the personal and physical care which can affect the elderly and infirm, but the lack of social interaction, and the loneliness of ‘empty house’ syndrome if a spouse has recently passed away can also have a serious impact on their health and well-being going forward.

More often than not the elderly and infirm do not wish to lose all their independence by moving into residential care simply because they are no longer able to carry out simple tasks as grocery shopping, running errands, housework duties and meeting with friends and family due to mobility and transport issues.

All of our Companions and Family Support staff respect and supports the dignity and independence of our elderly clients living happily, and independently, in their own homes. From spending a few hours per for a coffee and chat to daily visits encouraging development of social life, escorting to leisure activities, housekeeping duties and preparing meals etc.

We work as an introduction Agency and we will find one candidate to work with you and your family to suit your requirements, rather than a continuous stream of carers on a daily/weekly basis, which can for many of our elderly clients, become extremely confusing and upsetting.

Home support can come in as little as once a week or a few hours each day to provide help , companionship and housekeeping. Our candidates will be vetted in the exact same way as we vet our nannies and housekeepers and each will be put forward to the family for interview based on their experience, skill set and personality which fit the family’s individual requirements. This is not a service providing nursing , personal care or support with failing health – we simply offer assistance with the ongoing day to day things which can easily mount up and prove to be too much as the years march on.

Hummingbird Home Support is managed Mrs Victoria Clark based in the Hummingbird Hampshire office. Victoria is happy to offer advice and can assist with families seeking support in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex , Dorset.

Victoria has held the City and Guilds Family and Community Care certificate since 1992, she has worked with the elderly in the community as a Community Care Assistant, as well as in Residential homes, Care Homes and in Day Centres for the elderly.
