Night Nannies

Hummingbird Night Nannies

It can be an exhausting and daunting time for parents during the first few months of their baby’s arrival, at Hummingbird we understand how this feels and have many years experience in matching the perfect Night Nanny or Maternity Nurse to your family giving you comfort and allowing you to enjoy your baby.

We offer a wide range of services, so whether you want to get a good night’s sleep, need to find that special person to care for your children when you have a special occasion or need some guidance to encourage your baby to sleep through the night we are always here to help.
All our highly experienced and qualified Night Nannies and Maternity Nurses have at least three years experience and hold an up to date pediatric first aid certificate and valid DBS (CRB) check. We aim to make things simple and give you peace of mind.

Getting up to your baby to feed and change several times during the night can be exhausting, often leaving you sleep deprived and unable to enjoy your baby throughout the day. A Night Nanny has a special knowledge of caring for babies from new born up to 1 year. They will arrive at your home in the evening and take care of all your baby’s needs throughout the night. Hours are flexible around your needs but normally a Night Nanny would start at 9.00pm and finish at 7.00am.

What are the duties of a Night Nanny?

  • Night feeds
  • Change nappies
  • Settle your baby to sleep
  • Prepare and sterilise your baby's bottles
  • Dressing your baby in the morning
  • Giving help and advice on getting your baby into a sleep routine

A Night Nanny will also be able to advise on:

  • Breast and Bottle Feeding
  • Colic
  • Winding

A Night Nanny is often used when a family are expecting twins and triplets as it offers an extra pair of hands. Hummingbird can offer a multitude of support for your new baby.
